Our Programmes

Healing and Empowerment for Survivors provides direct support through therapy, mobile units, and sexual health education.

Building Trauma-Informed Communities tackles stigma with support groups, school screenings, and collaboration with local partners to create lasting change.

We are committed to expanding our reach and ensuring even more vulnerable youth have access to the support they deserve.

In the past two years, over 5,000 clients have benefitted from our therapy sessions, and empowered 60 women with entrepreneurship skills.

At Girls for Girls Africa Mental Health Foundation, we combine innovation, survivor-centered approaches, and community partnerships to address the pressing mental health needs of survivors of GBV and underserved populations. Our three areas of focus work together to create a comprehensive, accessible, and sustainable approach to mental health care.

By:

  • Providing trauma-informed care for survivors of SGBV & GBV
  • Simplifying access through our mobile therapy unit
  • Building mental health literacy through education and capacity building

We ensure that individuals receive the care, understanding, and empowerment they deserve. Together, we are creating healthier, more resilient communities where mental health is prioritized and supported.

Our Areas of Focus

Mobile Therapy

Access to mental healthcare in underserved communities remains a significant challenge due to stigma, financial barriers, and limited services. Our Mobile Therapy Unit bridges this gap by bringing mental healthcare directly to those who need it most.

Economic Empowerment for Survivors

Economic independence is a crucial aspect of recovery and resilience for survivors of GBV and individuals with mental health challenges. Our economic empowerment programs are designed to provide participants with the skills, resources, and opportunities needed to rebuild their lives.

Capacity Building on Mental Health Through Mental Health Literacy Training

Mental health literacy refers to the knowledge and understanding of mental health conditions, including recognizing symptoms, knowing when to seek help, and reducing misconceptions or stigma. By building mental health literacy, we empower individuals and communities to better address mental health challenges.
